I have been horrible at keeping up with my blog and am so far behind I have no idea where to begin. ha! So, today I figured I would start updating it and start posting what I have been up to the past year and a half.

Meet Shelby - I photographed this beautiful bride earlier last year (I know a year ago what?!! lol).  We used the (now old building) Houston Rental Studio. You can check out their new space by clicking HERE. It's really an amazing space!!

Since this session, so much has happened and this beautiful bride lost her husband this year. She's been on my mind for a while now. If you could, would you please keep her in your thoughts and prayers? Thanks so much! I am so glad I did get these for her so she can cherish these memories forever.

Feel free to leave some love or even share a message with her below. Happy Friday!

This months theme was "view from here". I have to tell you, I really struggled with this one. Everywhere I drove, I kept thinking of how I could interpret my "view" into my blog post...... I thought and thought and thought.... I really wanted a cool view, but the other night it hit me, what if I just did MY view as a mom for one of my evenings. So, here is what I came up with.

My view from here is told from my perspective as a busy mom of four kids. Basically, this is my view each night as I stand in the kitchen and cook dinner for our family.   I usually start cooking dinner around 5:15(ish) depending on what we are havingthat night but I was running late this particular evening. I do try to multitask while cooking dinner, well at least I try anyway. I usually have to help with homework, or try to keep Makynlee from destroying my house (one picture shows how she likes to throw things on the floors lol) , answer questions from 4 kids talking all at once, etc. Being a mom is so tiring at times and it sure is a lot of work but I sure do love my view! I enjoy being able to spend time with my kids and be able to cook meals for them. I love my little family so much.

I hope you guys enjoy "my view from here" from my kitchen.  At the bottom of this post I've listed the next amazing photographer so don't forget to check her out too.

Please continue our awesome blog circle and follow the next amazing photographer and her story. The next one up is Laura Chiles from Laura Chiles Photographer. Just click HERE to head over to her page.

This is month two of our blog circle and our theme this time is lines. Let me tell you, this one was a bit of a challenge at first. Since the beginning though, I started seeing lines everywhere. The themes we have been working on the past two months, have really helped me see things differently and I cannot wait for more to come.

Since the beginning of the lines theme,  I have been seeing lines everywhere I go. I mean... they really are everywhere!! lolThere was a beautiful sunset the other night and I thought wow... I know a place I'd love to try out for this theme.  Can you guess where I took these images?  They were done right at one of the entrances to our subdivision at an oil change/tire place.  Pretty neat huh?  I've been really trying to think outside the box and and work on perspectives,  it's something I am really trying to improve on. I hope you guys enjoy these. Btw, this beautiful gal is one of my daughters Camryne.  She always makes pictures turn out better. :)  Show her some love and don't forget to read below to check out the next great photographer. She will definitely inspire you.

Next up we have a wonderful life-style photographer Jessica with Samarie-Lei Photography.  She is amazing at documenting stories and is a huge inspiration to me. I just absolutely love her work and her style.  You can read about her blog circle post by clicking HERE.   I hope you guys enjoy our posts.

Some local photographer friends and I have decided to try out a blog circle. What is a blog circle you ask? It's very simple.... we choose a topic to write and photograph about, we share our images and link to the next photographer so you can enjoy their story as well. I'm super excited to give this a try and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  It truly has been a blessing to be apart of an amazing group of other women entrepreneurs in the same field as me. While some might think it's odd to be friends with your competition, I find it truly inspiring. These women are amazing. Seriously. So sit back, relax, grab a cup of coffee and enjoying reading our posts.

This month's topic is Freedom. This word has lots of different meanings to each and every one of us. To me it's a very important word. Freedom allows me to choose my business of photography and not have it chosen for me so you guys all get to enjoy all the pretty pictures. lolIt also has allowed me to create my beautiful family and not be told how many children I can or cannot have. I have a choice on where I want to live and be able to travel to any place I want to visit as well. I can voice my opinion at times and make my own decisions and learn from my own mistakes. I am thankful for all of the men and women who have fought for this country to allow us to have our freedom. I am especially thankful and very proud of my brother who is currently a marine. He is my hero and inspiration and I love him dearly.

With that said, no posts go without photos.

Btw- this flag never touched the ground at all for any reason and was folded and stored away properly afteruse.

The next blog to follow is my fellow photographer friend Laura Chiles from Laura Chiles Photographer. Please click here to read here blog post.

I am so far behind on blogging and need to play catchup, so I will start with this amazing family I met through the Red Thread Session. For those of you that are not familiar with that, I am a volunteer for this non-profit organization where we photograph families who are adopting children. I am so honored to be apart of such an amazing organization AND get to meet these wonderful families.

This family adopted this sweet little boy back in January and he sure is the sweetest little guy. He has a wonderful personality (and so does mom) so he will fit right into this family perfectly. I really hope I get to continue to photograph them so I can watch this little guy grow! He now has a little place in my heart.  Have a great Wednesday!

Oh my goodness you guys,  I am so in love with this session. Engagements are one of my favorite types of sessions and I am so excited to share this with you all. I met this lovely couple recently and I am so thankful they chose me.

Thank you guys so much for giving me the opportunity to be your photographer and capture the "love" between the both of you. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

I met this wonderful family through the "Deserving Family Giveaway" I had. There were some really amazing nominations and I am so thankful that this family was entered. Giving a gift to someone who could really use it is a wonderful feeling and I know this family will cherish these moments made for a lifetime.

It was also really great getting to know them for the afternoon and I had a lot of fun. These kids were really sweet. We laughed and had a great time! Thanks for hanging out with me guys!

Here are a few images from their session. Feel free to leave them some love!!

I had the wonderful privilege of photographing this little guy again. The most favorite part of my job is that I get to see my little clients grow and it makes my heart happy! I've been photographing this little guy since he was about 6 months old. I really look forward to seeing him each year!

Hope you guys enjoy the images and feel free to leave him some love!

And of course I had to include this blooper. This is so hilarious. My kids are like this daily so I couldn't pass this one up. Haha

AND THE WINNER IS.............

First, I would like to take a minute to say thank you to everyone who nominated a deserving person/family. It was so wonderful to read all the nominations and learn a little bit about each person. I will say it was very hard to only be able to choose one winner because each of the people I read about truly deserve this. I can't say thank you enough for each of you nominating these wonderful people.

Now to announce the winner ........ Amber Saska

The story your friend Melinda entered was so touching. It brought tears to my eyes... really!!  I am honored to be able to work with you and can't wait to start preparing for your session. At your earliest convenience, please contact me so we can chat about your complimentary session.

And of course, no post goes without a photo.  lol

Hi there. I am super excited to announce that Gibson Photography will be holding a GIVEAWAY to one lucky deserving person/family. I really do love giving back and what better way than to give a deserving person/family a complimentary session.

Do you know of a family that is going through some really tough times right now, a single mom or even dad that might be going through some hardships, a family member that is suffering from any type of illness, or anyone that could really benefit from a free session?  I would like for you to nominate this special someone and tell me all about them and why you feel they deserve this.

In order to give as many people as possible a great opportunity to be nominated please share this post as often and as many times as you like.  All submissions will begin now and will end November 2nd.  The winner will be announced here on the blog and shared to my FACEBOOK page as well.

Here's how it works.........

1. The session will be for up to 6 people and will last for up to an hour.

2. You can nominate as many families as you like.

3. All entries MUST be submitted by November 2nd.

4. You cannot nominate yourself, but no worries, a friend can nominate you.

5. Winner must be able to travel to Katy, Texas OR can be located in Lake Jackson, Texas. No exceptions.

6. This session is not redeemable for cash, credit, and is not transferable.

7. The free session will be scheduled upon availability.

Submission information........

Please fill out the form below and include as much detail as possible and explain why you want to nominate this family/person. Simply stating you want to nominate this family/person will not qualify them. I need to know why this family/person is special and why they should be nominated.  The winner of this session will receive a session by me with up to 15 digital images for download.

Also, if you would like to donate money towards prints for the winner please private message me. Prints are so important and I feel everyone that has a custom photography session should be able to receive them.  Please contact me if you have any questions about anything. Thank you and I look forward to reading all the submissions!!

I have been so excited about this second part to Jocelyn and Tony's engagement session. Last weekend I got to spend it with my sister Katie. She's due with her fourth baby boy this August. Wow I know!!! I came down for her baby shower and afterwards, we went out to "Cindy's Place" to take her maternity photos. We had a great time hanging out with family, friends, and horses. :) It was really cool. The only bad thing was the rain. It kept raining during our session and we all sat and waited under the trunk in the back of the van. When it would die down, we would get into position quickly and take some more pictures. It was very interesting. haha

Here are some of my favorites from our session. Hope you guys enjoy and feel free to leave them some love.

I had the honor of second shooting for Memories by Michelle last weekend. It was so great working with her and so awesome to be a part of this amazing couple on their special day. These two were so great to work with. They showed so much passion and love between each other, it was a pleasure to be a part of this magical day!!  I have to say, photographing "love" has been one of my favorite things.

This beautiful wedding was held at an amazing location Caney House Weddings & Events. If you're near the Bay City area you should really check them out. Not only is this place beautiful, but the lighting was fantastic too. I honestly just don't have enough wonderful things to say about this whole experience.

I just want to thank you all so much for letting me be a part of this amazing day!! I wish you guys a very long and wonderful life together!!

I absolutely love my job and enjoy getting to meet new people as well and photographing new places. It has truly been a blessing and I have to say, I do believe this session is one of my favorites to date!

This fabulous engagement took place at Another Time Soda Fountain in Rosenberg. This place was really amazing!!! The owner was so sweet and she made one heck of a banana split. Her chef came out to talk to us too and it was really great getting to meet with them.  Our visit was so awesome and their customer service was outstanding! If you ever get the chance please go check this place out. Her Facebook page is HERE and please let her know that you heard about her from me.

Here are some images from our session that morning. Feel free to leave some love for this wonderful couple as well. Hope you enjoy.

This little guy seriously had other plans instead of pictures. He really made us work for these. That's okay though. He was totally worth

I also just wanted to say congratulations on your new little arrival. I'm so honored to continue to capture special moments for you and your family. Thanks so much for contacting me to photograph this little bundle of joy.

Hope you all love the images, and please feel free to leave some love for this gorgeous little man.

And I believe this one is a favorite of mine. Even though he has his little paci (he was really done with pictures lol) I love this one!!
